Steve Hartman's Fortunate Us is a mixed-media series pairing raku pit-fired clay fortune cookies with abstract watercolors acting as the fortune inside. Each piece is unique because of the randomness of the pit-firing pottery process. Each has its own coloring from the smoke and fire surrounding it.
