I grew up in The Land of Goshen. Crossing through the Glen Carbon Covered Bridge and eating shakes and burgers at Northside Dairy Haven are two of many fond memories...and still often experiences.

I was asked to capture a few local landmarks of Glen Carbon and Edwardsville, Illinois to add these memories to the wall of a local bank branch. This project started a journey for me to find the more memorable vistas and corners of our community.

Posting a few of the photos online, friends were quick to ask for a book of these images... and I whole-heartedly agree that a visual artifact would be a delightful addition to our coffee tables. Especially for us who love the Land of Goshen.

Right now, others have joined to make this book a reality by pledging $125 (plus shipping).

Why use Kickstarter crowdfunding to order a book?

Designing a book for me is the easy part, paying for printing is where I need your help.

The current growing collection is over 50 locations around The Land of Goshen, that is strong series to share. Making a book out of it? That's another piece of the creative puzzle. As a graphic designer by trade, with a couple dozen books designed under my belt, putting my expertise into a high quality fine art book is second nature.

However, printing books is "spensive!" The only way to FUND this limited-edition run of coffee table books is to take pre-orders. 

I have created options and packages to sweeten the funding pot. Each level includes your name in an Acknowledgement section. There are options to choose a book along with a framed print of your choice; up to booking me to give a lecture of the collection and my thoughts on bringing creativity into your life; up to decking out your entire office with a collection of framed prints.

The Limited Edition Book

My plan is to only print a limited number of 500 books. When you pre-order a book through this fundraising campaign, you will be receiving a signed first edition. These books will be printed locally (within 30 miles of The Land of Goshen), by a printer who operates the most Environmentally-Friendly print shop in our region. The book will be very unique in design...I wouldn't have it any other way. Measuring 12" x 12" and roughly 150+ pages of high-quality paper, this book will be a work of art (as books go.)

Here are some Q&As about the book-funding campaign.

Where can I buy your book?
The Land of Goshen Collection book is only available for sale through the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. You must select a giving level greater than $125 to receive the book. The opportunity to pre-order the book is September 30th.

Can I buy your book after September 30th?
Unlikely. There are only 500 books available. If the campaign is successful, that will likely mean that all 500 books will be accounted for. If there are any left over, they might become available for sale at a later date, and a much higher price.

Do I have to pick a photo from the collection as my print reward for pledging?
No. Steve would like for you to choose a print of any photo or work of art from his entire portfolio.

Do I get my money back if the campaign doesn't make its goal?
You do not pay anything unless the campaign goal of $45,000 is reached. Once reached, your credit card will be charged within the first two weeks following the campaign end date of Oct. 1.

Will I receive the book and/or print before the Holidays?
That is the goal! Prints will be shipped out in the month of October. Books should ship out during the month of November or the first week of December. We cannot guarantee books will deliver, only because of current shipping conditions.

Can I buy more than one book at a discount?
Yes! There are two ways to do this. 1) Pledge at the $125 level to receive your for first book. There is an option to choose an "Add on" where you can buy your next book at $115. 2) Choose the "Corporate Gift Pack" option to receive 10 books at $100 each.

Why is the book so expensive?
Book printing alone is $30,000 for 500 museum-quality hardbound books (printed locally in the USA). Add on top of that shipping, Kickstarter campaign fees, taxes and Steve's time for photography, design and marketing. Each book will be signed by Steve and numbered to enhance the value of the book to a collector.
